Official Statement Regarding Muslim American Heritage Month

This is a historic.and very important resolution. "It will help bring Muslim Americans closer to the mainstream and civic life and affairs of our nation.

It's no longer a matter of if. But only when.

I'm fully confident that the U.S. Senate will pass our resolution and President Biden will sign it.

It's time that our fellow Americans learn more about the greatness of Prophet Muhammad peace and blessings be upon him.

And the historical legacies of religious scholars and Muslim leaders such as Imam W.D.Mohammed, Dr. Ahmad H. Sakr, Dr. Maher Hathout, Dr.Hassan Hathout, Imam Abdul Karim Hasan, Dr. Muzammil H. Siddiqi, boxing champion Muhammad Ali, NBA Hall of Fame member Kareem Abdul Jabbar, along with educator Dr. Betty Shabazz and her husband human rights activist Al Hajj Malik Al Shabazz... better known as Malcolm X.

Our Muslim American community is grateful for the leadership of Congress-member Bass the author of the resolution and Congress-members Andre Carson and Ilhan Omar the co - sponsors of Muslim Heritage Month to help ensure Muslim Americans will have a chance every year to highlight the importance of Muslim organizations and institutions such as Masjid Bilal Islamic Center , Muslim Journal, CAIR, ISNA, ICNA,UMMA Free Clinic, MPAC and the Ilm Foundation along with the various cultural traditions of the Muslim community.
